Ashes 2015: Rain stops play with England on verge of defeat

England 149 & 258-8 (following on): Cook 85, Buttler 42

England trail by 74 runs

Rain stopped play with England on the verge of a crushing defeat by Australia in the final Ashes Test at The Oval. 

Resuming on 203-6, the hosts lost Mark Wood and Jos Buttler in reaching 258-8, needing a further 74 to make Australia bat again on the fourth day.

Rain forced the players off the field at 12:15 BST, with an early lunch taken at 12:30.
England have already regained the Ashes after taking an unassailable 3-1 in the five-Test series.

The rain is expected to clear this afternoon
