Arsenal stepped up their pre-season campaign with an impressive 3-1 win over Everton in the Asia Trophy final in Singapore.
Arsène Wenger handed a debut to new signing Petr Cech and saw goals from Theo Walcott, Santi Cazorla and Mesut Özil secure his side victory in front of a crowd of 53,000 at the National Stadium.
The Everton midfielder Ross Barkley scored a late consolation, but the result was never in doubt.
Walcott’s pace took him clear of the Everton defender Seamus Coleman in the 22nd minute and the Arsenal striker was able to toe-poke home the game’s opening goal.

Cech pulled off a fine save to push Steven Naismith’s first-half effort on to the crossbar, but Cazorla cut inside on the edge of the penalty area to drill home a low shot and double Arsenal’s lead in the 58th minute before Özil slotted home a third four minutes later.

Ross Barkley scores a consolation goal for Everton
Arsenal had sealed their place by beating a Signapore Select X1 40, while Everton went through after beating Stoke City on penalties.
Stoke defeated the Singapore XI 2-0 in a third-place play-off earlier on Saturday thanks to goals from Steve Sidwell and Marko Arnautovic.
Shaw Post would like to congratulate Arsenal on starting their Pre Season in style by winning the Barclay's Asia Trophy in emphatic fashion by beating a lacklustre Everton 3-1. It was great to see Theo Walcott, Santi Cazorla get amongst the goals. It was also great to see Petr Cech pull off some amazing saves on his Arsenal Debut to help them win a trophy in his first game.
We hope that Arsenal can keep up their good pre season form by winning the Emirates Cup at the Emirates Stadium next weekend. To do that they'll have to beat Lyon and Wolfsburg convincingly on Saturday 25th July and Sunday 26th July.
After the Emirates Cup Arsenal face last season's League Champions Chelsea at Wembley on August 2nd in the Community Shield. This encounter will have some added spice to it as Petr Cech left Chelsea to join Arsene Wenger's Arsenal last month after eleven years at Stamford Bridge.
